Close to Him was establised in 2003. Around 1991 we started as a church choir called '' The Lord's creation''. This choir was set up by Joni Perkins with accompaniment by Peter Ruijsbroek.
After a year the choir gave a large concert and performed from time to time outside the church. Years later this choir has been taken over by Mirjam Ruijsbroek and her husband John accompanied us with electic guitar. After 11 1/2 years Judith Seip took over .
Through the years the group's repertoire has changed and the choir decided to take on the name ''Close to Him ''. We desired to sing in prisons and finally became independent of the church. We now sing in several prisons. The Northsingel, The Bijlmer, Scheveningen and City prison of Hoogvliet
